Pitch for Dealer's Choice

I would like to explore interviews of different types of anonymous people. With close ups of only certain body parts.
The faces of these people interviewed will not be revealed. Each person will tell a story. All will be very private, and it will be up to the person being interviewed to choose which body part will be filmed. It depends on how far they are willing to go. I have original music that can be used to add to the content.

  1. The idea seems creative, but what would be the reason behind doing this? Is there a reason for them to reveal anything personal for the interview besides your own interest. Is psychology involved in anyway? Would having people reveal there personal side be of any benefit to them or anybody else. Or is exploring different type of people something of a personality test.

  2. I like this. It needs to be pushed a bit, but I think it's a great idea and here's why:
It's mysterious. So often lately, people tell the whole story and leave nothing left to the imagination. People watch a film for a second time only if there is something to figure out.

But, I think you need to specify. What are these people discussing? Sexuality? Body consciousness? What do the secrets have to do with these various parts of their body?

  3. This is an interesting idea. Exploring people in interviews sounds like a good one, but I would like to know some specifics on what you would be interviewing the people on. Knowing that would give some more insight on what to expect. Also I'd recommend being careful here in choosing people for this film.

  4. What is the point of interviewing people? What greater purpose does it serve? Why film different parts of their bodies and have those parts be the focus? Also, even if the faces aren't shown the speaker's voice will be very clear and if the voice can be identified then the animosity will be lost for the speaker. The only way around that is to change the voices so that they're unrecognizable, but then you still have the question of why are the telling us these personal stories?

  5. This is super interesting. I have seen interviews where they closeup on the persons hands or something but that's about it. What else would we look at that would keep the person anonymous? And anywhere below the neck would seem silly, unless the body is the topic. It's tricky but I think your subject will dictate the success of this piece.

  6. I think if you're interviewing people there definitely needs to be a purpose behind the whole thing. You're saying that it can be pushed as far as they want, well what type of questions are you asking the person? It could be anything from what's your favorite food to more emotional questions. Also, you're letting them pick a body part, does the body part have to specifically relate to the topic you're questioning them on? Also, you have to worry about this because people at our school probably recognize some people's voices, if the interviewee doesn't mind, then it's find..but if they want it to be confidential then you have to not use them or disguise their voice.
